Fantuan Delivery: Bringing Asian Cuisine to Canadians’ Doorsteps

How Fantuan has carved a niche in Canadian food delivery by specializing in Asian cuisine and quick errand services

Founded in Burnaby, British Columbia, by SFU student Randy Wu and co-founder Yaofei Feng back in 2014, Fantuan Delivery has grown into a trusted national food delivery service catering primarily to Asian cuisine lovers.

Their mobile app allows users to order from local Asian restaurants, run errands, and connect with independent contractors for seamless delivery. Fantuan’s integration stands out for its cultural focus and reflects rapid diversification in Canada's gig economy food services.

In 2024, Fantuan expanded its footprint by acquiring Chowbus’ delivery operations in Canada, further consolidating its leadership in specialized cuisine delivery.

Fantuan’s story underscores how niche-focused platforms can thrive by meeting under-served culinary and cultural needs in Canada’s multicultural society.
